Artist Bio

In her mixed media constructions, Jane Hammond composes found elements, images and objects into densely surreal, allegorical art works. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1950, the artist earned her M.F.A from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and currently lives and works in New York City. She has been exhibited at major museums worldwide, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; MoMA, NY; The New Museum, NY; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, Colorado; the Perez Museum in Miami; The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK; among many others.
